The good news: Brent Burns is back in the lineup tonight as the Sharks travel to St. Louis to take on a Blues team that defeated them in overtime three nights ago. The bizarre news: he’ll be playing as a forward. Burns was a winger for the entirety of his hockey career prior to being drafted by the Minnesota Wild and converted to defense but it’s still a peculiar move by a team that could desperately use Burns’ mobility and puck-advancing skills on their back end. On the other hand, it’s possible this is a temporary move to ease Burns’ transition back into the lineup. At any rate, this might be the Sharks’ biggest game of the season so far; they need points about as badly as they need to deny the Blues the same. Go Sharks.
