Sharks vs. Islanders Preview: Stalock gets first start

The Sharks snuck out of Newark with a victory in the shootout and look to build on their four-game win streak against John Tavares and the Islanders. Alex Stalock should get his first start in goal after four stellar performances in net by Martin Jones.

This is the penultimate game of San Jose’s four-game road swing which will conclude in Madison Square Garden on Monday against the Rangers. The Sharks went 1-0-1 against the Islanders last season, losing the first meeting in a shootout and winning the second 3-1.

DeBoer commented on the Sharks not falling into the ‘trap’ against the Devils, something that has plagued the Sharks in recent seasons. There will likely be little concern of that against the Islanders, though fatigue may play a role by the time the third period rolls around.
