Sharks vs Kings Game Four Preview: Taking back home ice

The Sharks look to regain home ice advantage against the Kings.

The Sharks return to the tank for game four up 2-1 against the Kings. Despite playing reasonably well in game three, they lost in overtime on a goal from Tanner Pearson. The Sharks will look to take back home ice and win game four to go in up 3-1. A convincing win would make a strong statement that the tank is back to being one of the toughest building to play in and the Sharks are ready to battle.

The top line of Tomas Hertl, Joe Thornton, and Joe Pavelski will seek to keep their scoring touch but needs to get support from other lines. Maybe we will see a Patrick Marleau hot streak? The Sharks need to continue to pressure Jonathan Quick, and not let LA's physical play get into their heads and the Sharks could swim their way into LA looking to clinch.

Storylines:

  • Will Joe Thornton, Joe Pavelski and Tomas Hertl continue to lead the Sharks on the scoreboard?
  • With the loss to LA, there could be changes in the lineup. We could see Dainius Zubrus return.
  • Martin Jones has been solid in net, so don't expect to see James Reimer.
  • Alec Martinez missed the first three games for the Kings and could be back for game 4.
