Sharks vs. Kings Preview: Banged up San Jose hosts Los Angeles

The first time these teams met this season just about everything went right for the Sharks after the first Kings‘ shot of the game. While Los Angeles has more or less rebounded from a luck-driven slump to start the season, San Jose has been bit by the injury bug.

Here’s where you can catch the game; and remember to check back tonight as Jon Wold will be in attendance to bring you the latest on the contest.

Last Meeting

It wasn’t the start the Sharks wanted, but five-straight goals led San Jose over their Los Angeles rivals.

Storylines

  • Physical battle: Micheal Haley was called up Wednesday and it wasn’t for his stick-handling. This game could be very physical and it’s important the Sharks stay out of the penalty box — and better yet, find a way to get on the power play against the Kings.
  • No Couture, (probably) no Martin: Against a bad team the Sharks can get away with losing a couple key players, against the ings? Well, San Jose is going to need some breaks to go its way.
  • Still the Kings you hate: Don’t bury the Kings because of a slow start to the season, they’re just as dangerous as they’ve been the past several years. Goaltending has been a problem for the Kings, so naturally we’ve got a shutout watch on our hands.
