Sharks Young Stars Open Thread: Jets @ Sharks

The Sharks are going with a different lineup than the one they showed against the Flames yesterday, moving players up and down the roster. Defenseman William Wrenn, who was scratched last night against the Flames, will be in tonight for his first appearance of the tournament. Plan on seeing him paired with 6’7 230 pound Taylor Doherty.

Thomas Heemskerk will be in net for San Jose for the second straight night after a brilliant 27 save performance against the Flames. J.P. Anderson will be serving the backup role again; as Heemskerk explained yesterday, the plan is going to split-duty with the goalie change happening around the 10:00 mark of the second period.

Below is the full lineup going into tonight’s game against Winnipeg. As always, players with a tryout contract will be identified with a (T) following their name:

Trevor Cheek (T) – Freddie Hamilton – Scooter Vaughan

Dylan Wruck (T) – Michael SgarbossaJames Livingston

Joe Antilla (T) – Nathan Moon (T) – Brodie Reid

Ben Thomson (T) – Charles Inglis (T) – Curt Gogol

Konrad Abelthauser – Zach Bell (T)

Antoine Corbin (T) – Sena Acolatse

Taylor Doherty – William Wrenn

The only pairing staying constant from last night will be Corbin and Acolatse– the organization likely wanted to take another look at Corbin after a fairly mediocre performance last night. Trevor Cheek and Thomas Moon, two tryouts who had good games last night, will be split up for the second game of the tournament. Cheek gets the opportunity to play with Freddie Hamilton while Moon will continue to center the third line.

The Sharks best line last night of Sgarbossa-Wruck-Reid will be split up tonight as well. Brodie Reid, who had a goal and an assist last night goes down to the third line to play with Moon and Joe Antilla.

Scooter Vaughan, Zach Bell, and William Wrenn will make their tournament debuts tonight.

Games will be streamed live at canucks.com, youngstars.insinc.com, and sportsnet.ca for those who wish to catch the action at home.

Puck drops at 7:30 PM.
