The NHL 09 Fear The Fin Invitational

If you’ve been around the last month or so, you’ve heard rumblings of a NHL 09 Tournament on Xbox Live.

Let’s kick the tires and light the fires big daddy.

Jaaaump.

This shit’s either going to be pretty straight forward, or a pain in the ass to pull off. Hopefully we can figure it in the comments before Friday rolls around.

THE BASICS

• The tournament begins on Friday July 17th. That is this upcoming weekend. You must sign up by Thursday at 11:59 PM in order to take part.
• Anyone and everyone is invited. You don’t have to be a Sharks fan.
• You must be a decent human being to play. This tournament will require self reporting on the outcomes of games which makes honesty the best policy. Don’t be a dick.
• Also, don’t be a douche. If you sign up make sure you can commit to playing this summer. If you’re going to Italy for two months, this isn’t right for you.
• You must have Xbox Live obviously. Headset is not required, but if you have one all the better.

THE FORMAT

• Seven game series.
• RSVP in the comments. Include your gamertag.
  Depending on the number of players signing up, we may have to get creative with how we structure the tournament. Some players may get byes in the first round etc. Don’t worry about this right now, it’s irrelevant until we see how many people have signed up.
• After signing up, friend request me (gamertag is misterplank). This is important because….
  Teams will be drafted according to your online versus record. The higher your record, the higher your draft pick. For example, say you are 300-0-0. You would pick first. The draft will take place on Friday. If you are unable to get to a computer on Friday, leave a list of ten teams (in order of preference) that you would want to play as.
  After selecting teams, you will have until the next Friday at 11:59 PM to finish your series. That is one week. Feel free to organize when you will play your games in the comments.
• I will put up a master list of players, teams, and seedings on Friday.
• Winners advance to the next round, obviously./
