Thornton scores 200th goal as Shark

In the second period of tonight’s game against the Nashville Predators, Joe Thornton scored his 200th goal as a member of the San Jose Sharks.

Thornton is just the fourth player in franchise history to score 200 goals. He now sits seven goals shy of surpassing Owen Nolan for third-most goals in teal, and 25 points of surpassing Gilbert Perreault on the NHL’s all-time points list. With 31 games left in the regular season, Joe has a chance of passing both Nolan and Perreault in this campaign, and continuing his ascent in the history books.
