Thursday Chum Bucket: Demers could debut tonight

Jason Demers appears to have finally made a full recovery from the wrist injury he sustained at the Spengler Cup during the latter stages of the lockout. He’s ready to play, but it remains to be seen if his debut will come tonight against the Oilers. Dan Boyle was absent for practice yesterday so it’s possible the only change made to the lineup is Petrecki out, Demers in. [CSN Bay Area]
German billionaire Hasso Plattner now has a controlling stake in Sharks Sports & Entertainment after buying out Kevin Compton and Stratton Sclavos’ shares. Per Pollak, the team’s mission statement now includes the line “we also want to try to achieve a sustainable business.” Uh oh. [Mercury News]
