Timo Meier sent back to Halifax

Timo Meier, the Sharks first round draft pick in 2015, has returned to the Halifax Mooseheads where he was named captain.

Peter DeBoer, from sjsharks.com:

“Timo had an impressive camp. He showed everyone why we selected him where we did. He has a nice blend of power, speed and skill and he has a really bright future.”

Meier scored 90 points in 61 games with Halifax during the regular season and picked up 21 points over 14 playoff games. He’s a point a game player over his career with the Mooseheads — this will be Meier’s first season as captain.

He showed plenty of raw skill while with the Sharks in preseason and spending more time in junior will almost certainly help work some of the kinks out of his game. I can’t wait to see what he looks like in Sharks training camp next season.
