Oh my goodness, Sharks fans, it’s that time of year again, and I have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a San Jose Sharks prospect pool more stacked than this one. Fear the Fin is looking at the top 25 Sharks under the age of 25 once again, and there are a lot of great options.
Last season, this is how our Sharks rankings stacked out:
1. Macklin Celebrini
2. Will Smith
3. William Eklund
4. Yaroslav Askarov
5. Quentin Musty
6. Sam Dickinson
7. Shakir Mukhamadullin
8. Filip Bystedt
9. Thomas Bordeleau
10. Henry Thrun
11. Kasper Halttunen
12. Igor Chernyshov
13. Luca Cagnoni
14. Danil Gushchin
15. Leo Sahlin Wallenius
16. Collin Graf
17. Jack Thompson
18. Ethan Cardwell
19. Cameron Lund
20. Eric Pohlkamp
21. Ty Dellandrea
22. Mattias Havelid
23. Jake Furlong
24. Georgi Romanov
25. Tristen Robins
Honorable Mention: Brandon Svoboda, Gannon Laroque, Brandon Coe, Carson Wetsch and Valtteri Pulli
The team chose not to extend a qualifying offer to Romanov. Pulli is also no longer with the organization. Several of the players on this list were lost in trades — Bordeleau, Thrun, Gushchin and Robins, though the team netted young prospects in return in most of those trades.
Of the remaining, Dellandrea is the only player on this list who has aged out.
Since the last time we voted, the Sharks have also drafted. The team selected second overall in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft and chose Michael Misa, the best forward in the draft. With the 30th overall pick, the Sharks surprised a lot of teams and went with a goaltender, selecting Joshua Ravensbergen, who was considered by many to be the top goaltending prospect in the pool.
On day two, the Sharks added Haoxi Wang, a raw defenseman with massive upside, Cole McKinney, a hockey “rat,” who could bolster the team’s third-line down the road, forward Teddy Mutryn, defenseman Ilyas Magomedsultanov, defenseman Zachary Sharp, forward Max Heise and forward Richard Gallant.
So, with new young forwards added into the mix via trade and a fresh crop of prospects recently drafted, we present to you a next crop of prospects under the age of 25. Your job is to rank them and tell us how you think they stack up. You have until Aug. 15 to submit your responses.
