What made you become a Sharks fan?

Happy Thursday, everyone!

With the 24 NHL teams getting ready to return to play, and finish out the 2019-20 season, the seven non-playoff teams are looking forward to the June 26 draft lottery … well maybe except the San Jose Sharks with their pick going to the Ottawa Senators.

Although it was down season for the team, the Sharks have been one of the best organizations in the NHL. This is only the third time San Jose will miss the playoffs in the last 22 seasons.

The Sharks entered the league as an expansion team in 1991-92. San Jose struggled in its first two years, but made the playoffs in its third season, setting up the first great moment in franchise history:

From the days of the funky masked Arturs Irbe and the dependable Sandis Ozolinsh, to the prolonged stretch of dominant Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau led teams, the Sharks have built up quite a history over the last 29 years. Although the team hasn’t won its first Stanley Cup championship yet, the Sharks have had some exciting highlights throughout their postseason runs.

When did you become a fan of the team? Were you on-board as soon as word broke that San Jose was getting an NHL team? Is there a specific moment or player that made you fall in love with the Sharks?
