Young Sharks Get Ready For The Young Stars Tournament

As the San Jose Sharks continue to practice at Sharks Ice in preparation of the upcoming 2011-2012 season, Sharks prospects rookies are here in Penticton, British Columbia to take part in the second annual Young Stars tournament. Players from the Calgary Flames, Winnipeg Jets, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks will be here as well this week, in what should be an exciting time for fans and the future NHL players.

Games will be streamed live at canucks.com, youngstars.insinc.com, and sportsnet.ca for those who wish to catch the action at home.

Notable prospects participating in this year’s event will be Taylor Doherty (D), William Wrenn (D), Freddie Hamilton (F), Michael Sgarbossa (F), Konrad Abelthauser (D), Marek Viedensky (F), Harri Sateri (G), and Thomas Heemskerk (G). A PDF of the entire team roster can be found here.

The Sharks have three games on tap, with a matchup against the Flames at 4:00 PM today, one against the Jets at 7:30 PM Monday night, and a tilt against the Canucks on Wednesday. Below is the complete schedule for the entire tournament:
