[Open Thread] Game Sixty-Nine: San Jose Sharks at Minnesota Wild
Number nine, number nine, number nine, number nine...
The Sharks are going for their franchise record ninth win in a row against a team that's not only lost four straight but now has a rejuvenated Avalanche threatening to sweep past them in the Northwest Division. Adding to the Wild's misery is how the Sharks have had their number thus far, winning both games played against. It helps in no small part that Los Tiburones have kept Marian Gaborik relatively at bay, with no goals and an assist in each of the previous contests with the Teddy Bears. And for the record, likely starting goalie for the Wild Niklas Backstrom plays the Sharks three ways -- poorly, badly, and awful.
San José is clicking on all cylinders right now, this having nothing to do with how this game will start as this week's NASCAR race in Atlanta is drawing to a conclusion but I thought I'd mention it anyway. Right now, the Sharks have no weakness in their game. It looks to be a long Sunday afternoon for the team learning it's not easy being green.
Okay, let's drop the puck.
