Barclay Goodrow, Tim Heed reassigned to Barracuda

Both Barclay Goodrow and Tim Heed have been sent back to the San Jose Barracuda according to the American Hockey League transactions page. Both were healthy scratches against the Los Angeles Kings and Tampa Bay Lightning and will likely play for the ‘Cuda against the San Diego Gulls and Ontario Reign on the road this weekend.

Heed got a bit of playing time while the Sharks’ blue line was banged up while Barclay Goodrow hasn’t seen action since last season. It’s going to be tough for Goodrow to get back to the NHL given San Jose’s forward depth while Heed may find it easier to fight back into the NHL this season.

Both are playing well in the AHL this season. Goodrow is a 0.59 points per game player with the ‘Cuda in his age 23 season while Heed, now 25, is averaging 1.10 points per game in the AHL as a defender. I’ll be at the Ontario-San Jose game on Saturday and will offer a mediocre scouting report on the players and a slightly better one on the beer.

The Sharks host the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.
