The San Jose Barracuda will open their third season as the San Jose Sharks’ AHL affiliate on October 7 in Stockton, the team announced in the release of their full, 68-game schedule today. As was announced yesterday, the Barracuda will host their home opener on October 13.
56 of San Jose’s 68 games will be played against Pacific Division opponents. Their out-of-division opponents are the defending Calder Cup champions Grand Rapids Griffins, who eliminated San Jose in the postseason, Cleveland Monsters, Manitoba Moose, and Rockford IceHogs. The Barracuda will not play any teams from the AHL’s Eastern Conference.
Nine of their 34 home games are doubleheaders with the Sharks, which I’ve included in this story just in case you wanted to plan out which games you can complain about the ice conditions.
