Blackhawks at Sharks (game 70): Lines, game thread and how to watch

Devin Cooley expected to get his first start at SAP Center as the Sharks host the Blackhawks for the final time this season.

This one might really be for all the marbles. The Chicago Blackhawks visit SAP Center tonight for the third and final meeting with the San Jose Sharks. The Blackhawks sit at 31st in the NHL going into this evening’s game, four points up on the Sharks. San Jose has also played one fewer game than the Blackhawks.

The last time these two teams met was less than a week ago when the Sharks met with a disappointing and frustrating defeat at the hands of the Blackhawks. The Sharks were up 2-0 when they allowed five unanswered goals to lose 5-2. Though the teams are only separated by four points in the standings, Chicago looked miles better than San Jose in closing out that game.

Since the March 17 game, the Blackhawks have played in Los Angeles and Anaheim. So far, the California swing has not gone well for Chicago. The team lost to the LA Kings 6-2 on Tuesday and was shutout by the Anaheim Ducks 4-0 on Thursday. San Jose could complete the California sweep tonight. Despite the losses, the Blackhawks are 4-6-0 in the team’s last 10 games. The Sharks are 1-8-1 by comparison.
