Cool your jets on those Marleau rumors
Maybe the longest tenured Shark isn't going anywhere after all.
Trade speculation about Patrick Marleau has been all over the place lately. It all started on Hockey Night in Canada with a report from Elliotte Friedman:
Marleau seemed to dismiss this...
Marleau on trade speculation: "They're starting early this year." Says he hasn't been asked to waive NMC #SJSharks

But then things got interesting, and maybe a little scary for Sharks fans...

It is less likely SJ asked Marleau to waive NTC and more likely that Marleau asked SJ to explore trade possibilities to select teams.

Well, after last night's game, Marleau's wife took to Twitter and addressed these rumors a bit clearer.
Math for Media: An 'unnamed' sourced rumor + add in 3 cities = still just a rumor. The guy just played with the flu, give him a break!

When Marleau was drafted to this team, I was 7. I, like many Sharks fans, honestly can't imagine the Sharks without him. Hopefully this gives them some peace of mind.
Also, that was Patty Marleau with the flu!? He was still one of the best players on the ice last night.
