Welcome back, Sharks fans! This past week saw some great hockey action, including Patrick Marleau’s return to San Jose, Joe Pavelski’s first fight since 2014, and Joe Thornton is now 19th in all-time points scored. However, the highlight of the week might just have been the amazing Star Wars puns and references from Saturday’s game against Pacific Division rival, the Anaheim Ducks. If theme nights like that one include fantastic tweets and photos, sign me up for more. Let’s see what some of the top social posts were from Star Wars Night!
#5: A Long Time Ago…

Kudos to the Sharks for kicking off Star Wars Night the way any self-respecting movie about the Force should start.
#4: Wookies For Life
Our own Chewbacca finally reunited with his family. Possible spoiler alert: will Burnsie be starring in Episode VIII?
#3: Shark Side of the Force

Is it too early to nominate Sharkie for an Academy Award in Best Costume Design? Sharkie-Wan Kenobi, Sharkie2-D2, and Shark Vader, oh my! I sense a fishy disturbance in the Force…
#2: Lightsabers Galore
The Sharks took the time to invest in a little CGI for their hockey sticks. Why do I have a feeling the boys spent morning practice making lightsaber sound effects as they skated by?
#1: The Force Awakens
It’s true. All of it. The Shark side, the Jedi. They’re real. #SJSharks pic.twitter.com/b6RiSP82oh

This promo takes the cake for being nerdy, kickbutt, and on point. Is it just me or does anyone else want the Sharks to make their own version of Episode IV now?
Bonus: Shooting Womprats
Note to self: shoot less like stormtroopers. #ANAvsSJS pic.twitter.com/8GlPyhMtu3

Despite the score, this infographic is hilarious. The Sharks did manage to find the droids they were looking for by the end of the game, and a pun about their lack of scoring isn’t all bad – if it’s related to stormtroopers, that is. However, the highlight has to be Anaheim’s mascot being transformed into Jar Jar Binks.
That’s all, folks! Tune in next Sunday for the next installment of our favorite Sharks social media. Comment below with your favorite post from this week or tweet at me with your candidates for next week!
