Fear The Five: Social Countdown to Opening Night

Happy Opening Day, everyone! Starting this Sunday, we’ll be rolling out a new feature called “Fear The Five: Happy Hour.” I’ll be counting down the top five Twitter and Instagram posts from the San Jose Sharks, SJ Sharkie, and the players’ social media profiles from the previous week. Today, however, we’re debuting a special preview because hockey is back, y’all!

So, without further ado, here are the top five posts counting down to our home opener against Philadelphia at 7:30pm Pacific tonight.

#5: Jamie Baker with the #throwbackthursday photo to his time in uniform for the Sharks.

I Want You to Watch Hockey in 1 week. (Sharks vs Flyers Oct 4)

Never change, Jamie; we love you.

#4: CCM might be as in love with Burns’ beard as we are.

Don’t fear the beard. One more sleep! #MadeOfHockey

We don’t fear the beard, but the Flyers might.

#3: Aaron Dell’s new mask for the start of the season is on the next level of awesome.

Frozen-inspired and Sharks-themed – we wholeheartedly approve! The only question remaining: Does Dell want to build a snowman?

#2: The Sharks won Twitter on Tuesday night with the homage to The Night Before Christmas poem.

Complete with Paul Martin and Joe Pavelski snuggled up together on the couch (taken from their recent “We Cheer For You” commercial).

#1: -wakes up-

-looks at calendar-

-Seek and Destroy starts blasting-

It’s game day, baby!

Bonus:

In case you missed it, the Sharks tweeted along during the NHL movie night screening of The Mighty Ducks on Monday, October 2nd. Well played, Sharks, well played.

That’s all, folks! Tune in at 7:30pm Pacific as the Sharks take on the Flyers in the first game of the season at SAP Center. See you back here for the next social countdown on Sunday, October 8th!
