Hertl, Nieto, Goldobin among players attending Sharks development camp this week
An intrasquad scrimmage will take place Wednesday night at the Tank.
Current Sharks Tomas Hertl and Matt Nieto along with top prospects Nikolay Goldobin and Mirco Mueller will be among the 44 players attending the Sharks' Development Camp this week in San Jose, which includes an intrasquad scrimmage at SAP Center on Wednesday ($5 tickets for the scrimmage available here, with proceeds going to the Sharks Foundation).
Twelve of the players at the event will be there on tryouts, including late-blooming 6'3" defenseman Randy Gazzola who scored 74 points in 68 games for QMJHL champs Val-d'Or as a 20-year-old this past season. Other notable names on the roster include Boston University forward Daniel O'Regan, who competed for Team USA at the 2014 World Junior Championship, winger Daniil Tarasov, who scored at a 30-goal pace for Worcester in 2013-14, centers Chris Tierney and Freddie Hamilton who could have legitimate shots at making the big club next season and 2014 First Team All-Ivy League defenseman Joakim Ryan.
