The NHL playoffs are starting to heat up! There are four games on today’s schedule. Kicking things off with be the second meeting between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Tampa Bay Lightning. Game 1 was the definition of a marathon. Brayden Point scored 10:27 into the fifth overtime to give the Lightning a 3-2 win.
In the early afternoon matchup, the Chicago Blackhawks will try and even up their series against the heavily favored Las Vegas Golden Knights. Reilly Smith had two goals, and an assist to lead Vegas to a 4-1 win in Game 1.
Meanwhile, the Boston Bruins will try to take a 2-0 series lead when they take on the Carolina Hurricanes. Bruins’ captain Patrice Bergeron scored the double-overtime winner in the series opener to put Boston up a game in the series.
To wrap things up, the late game features the Calgary Flames and Dallas Stars. Rasmus Andersson scored the winner in the second period for the Flames in Game 1, as they hung on to beat the Stars 3-2.
