Logan Couture scores first goal of season

Scoring his first goal in January probably isn’t the way Logan Couture envisioned his 2015-16 season going. Two separate injuries have kept Couture off the ice in 75 percent of the Sharks games, but when he has played he’s been excellent.

Now Couture has finally been rewarded with a goal. A turnover by Calgary, which seems to be something of a trend tonight, led to Couture ripping a shot from below the faceoff circle. It slipped by Joel Ward and Karri Ramo and somehow, someway ended up in the back of the net.

Given how poor Couture’s luck has been this season, it’s nice to have a seeing-eye shot go his way. Assuming we’re not going to see any more freak injuries, Couture will likely do what he’s done since he first joined the team — carry play, score goals and miss empty nets.

He has five points in his 10 games.
