Martin Jones is the NHL's first star of the week

As he should be.

Sharks' starting goaltender Martin Jones has been named the NHL's first star of the week:

Jones had a .951 save percentage this week and the Sharks went 3-0-0 in games he started. He also got his third shutout of the season, which puts him in a four-way tie for the league lead.

Jones currently has the seventh-best save percentage among qualified goalies, and his even-strength save percentage of .941 is good for fifth among goalies who have played 500 minutes.

As the Sharks early MVP, he is well deserving of this recognition.
