Barring any trades, the San Jose Sharks will make a selection in the first round of the NHL Draft for the first time since 2015 when they pick 19th overall. This pick, in particular, represents a chance to re-stock the prospect cupboard, especially after San Jose traded former first round picks Mirco Mueller and Nikolay Goldobin over the last three months.
The Sharks won’t have to answer the “Nico or Nolan” question, but they should have options to draft a good player with the 19th pick. We’ve profiled some of them, and even made a selection of our own in SB Nation’s mock draft when we picked Michael Rasmussen. If General Manager Doug Wilson selects any of the players we profiled, I will take that as confirmation he reads Fear the Fin.
