How to watch today’s NHL playoff matchups & Game Thread

The NHL playoffs roll on with two games on today’s schedule.

In the early matchup, the Boston Bruins are on the brink of elimination in their series against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Ondrej Palat scored twice to lead the Lightning to a 3-1 win in Game 4 to take a 3-1 series lead. The Bruins need more from their big guns if they want to force a Game 6.

Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak, and Brad Marchand were held off the score sheet last game, and the B’s will only go as far as the trio takes them. Tampa Bay has outscored Boston 14-5 in the previous three games.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Stars are a win away from advancing to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2007-08. Radek Faska had a goal and two assists in Game 4, helping the Stars to a 5-4 win Game 4. Dallas leads the series 3-1. The high-scoring series has seen the two teams combine for seven-or-more goals in each contest. The Avalanche will need a big performance from superstar center Nathan Mackinnon, and dynamite rookie defenseman Cale Makar.
