Quick Bite: Pair of third period goals sink Sharks

A pair of third-period goals sunk the Sharks against the visiting Anaheim Ducks. Chris Wagner scored early in the third period and Corey Perry potted a power play goal with seven and a half to go in the contest to make it 2-1.

Joel Ward scored midway through the first period, his first as a Shark. It was assisted by Paul Martin and Brent Burns.

San Jose held the edge on the shot clock 24-21. Anaheim scored the only power play goal of the game out of their three opportunities, while the Sharks failed to cash in on any of their four power plays.

The Sharks will play the Canucks for a third time this preseason on Tuesday. That game will be televised, so you don’t even have to buy tickets to see it!

Goals (Assists): Joel Ward (Paul Martin, Brent Burns)

Saves: Martin Jones — 20

Next Game: September 29 vs. Canucks.
