Report: Bob Boughner to be added to Sharks coaching staff

44-year-old led Windsor to two Memorial Cup championships.

Two-time Memorial Cup champion and CHL Coach Of The Year Award winner Bob Boughner is expected to be added to the Sharks coaching staff next week as one of Peter DeBoer's assistants. A veteran of 630 NHL games, Boughner served as the Windsor Spitfires' head coach in the OHL from 2006 through 2015, save for the 2010-11 season when he was behind the Columbus Blue Jackets' bench, where he helped develop players like Taylor Hall, Cam Fowler and Ryan Ellis as well as led the team to the CHL championship in 2009 and 2010.

Adam Oates, whose ability as a power play architect we discussed here, and former Maple Leafs assistant Steve Spott are also considered finalists for an assistant coaching role with the Sharks along with the 44-year-old Boughner.
