San Jose Barracuda clinch a playoff spot in first season

The 'Cuda didn't bother making things interesting against the Stockton Heat.

Aaron Dell made 41 saves, Nikolay Goldobin added three points and five different Barracuda scored in San Jose's 6-0 playoff-clinching win over the Stockton Heat on Sunday afternoon.

In the team's first season in San Jose, the 'Cuda made the playoffs by the skin of their teeth. They'll face the division champion (and reigning AHL champs) Ontario in the first round of the playoffs. That series begins at home. Check out the full schedule at the bottom of this post.

Jeremy Morin also added three points (one goal, two assists) and Dell played like he had something to prove after playing well below his own standards in San Jose's loss on Saturday. Barclay Goodrow, Jeremy Langois, Alex Gallant and Trevor Parkes all scored in the victory, which just increased the 'Cuda's dominance over the Heat this season.

We'll post the whole playoff schedule when it's released — but for now, congratulations to the Barracuda. It's big for this group of players to get some playoff experience and I know it was important for the organization to give the fans some playoff hockey.

UPDATE: Here's the first round schedule.
