The San Jose Sharks had multiple season firsts last night: Devan Dubnyk posted the Sharks’ first shutout, also marking the first time the Sharks have won two consecutive games this season. On top of that, Fredrik Handemark scored his first goal of the season.
And while not every game can be played against the Anaheim Ducks this season, tonight’s game will be, as well. They’ve won three of their four games against the Ducks so far, with the one loss coming in the shootout. Both teams are scraping the bottom of the West Division barrel, so it’s not too surprising.
Both teams will swap out starting goaltenders in the second half of this back-to-back series. Ryan Miller came in to relieve John Gibson last night in the third period after allowing five unanswered goals. Miller allowed one goal on three shots and will start in net tonight.
