Sharks place Filip Sandberg on unconditional waivers

The San Jose Sharks placed Forward Filip Sandberg on unconditional waivers this morning, per Cap Friendly. Sandberg was on an entry-level contract and was exempt from needing to clear waivers to move between the Sharks and Barracuda, so the most likely explanation is that his contract will be terminated when he clears waivers.

The 24-year-old native of Järfälla, Sweden signed with the Sharks as an undrafted free agent in May 2017. During his time with the organization, Sandberg played exclusively in the AHL. He played 45 games with the Barracuda in the 2017-18 season, recording 7 goals and 7 assists. This season, he played in eight games with the ‘Cuda, scoring 1 goal and 5 assists in that time.
