Adding to the list of injuries for the Sharks this season, Joel Ward is out indefinitely with an apparent injury to his right arm.
In the second period of their match against the Vegas Golden Knights, defenseman Nate Schmidt ran Ward into the boards. The point of contact for the crouching Ward seemed to be his head and shoulder.

Ward was lead of the ice by Sharks trainer Ray Tufts and did not return for the third period.
“It’s as dangerous a play as there can be in hockey. We all know the dangers of concussions, but head first into the boards is, I would put that at the top of the list,” Pete DeBoer told Mercury News. “Again, I’m just speechless by it, I don’t know what the call is. Is it two-minute boarding? It’s something, though.”
The 37-yer-old forward has totaled 11 points (five goals, six assists) in 46 games this season. He will be replaced on the fourth line with Danny O’Regan and Barclay Goodrow by Jannik Hansen, who has been a healthy scratch for the past seven games. In 28 games with the Sharks this year, Hansen has four assists.
