Sharks recall Radim Simek, Lean Bergmann from Barracuda

The San Jose Sharks have recalled Radim Simek from his conditioning stint with their American Hockey League affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, and have called up forward Lean Bergmann, as well. To make room for Simek and Bergmann, the Sharks reassigned forward Jonny Brodzinski to the Barracuda.

Simek played two games for the Barracuda as part of his conditioning stint, tallying an assist in each of them. His return to the Sharks’ blueline will certainly be welcomed, as things have not been especially stable with the defensive corps. Who he’ll be partnered with tomorrow is the only question, as the Sharks seem to be mixing the pairings up in practice.

Lean Bergmann made a statement with the Barracuda in the five games he played, producing at a rate of 1.33 points per game. He is currently second on the team in scoring with eight points (3 goals, 5 assists.) However, whether he can replicate this production in the NHL or if he is doomed to join the ranks of Daniel Carr or Chris Terry as in-betweeners has yet to be seen.
