Sharks reunite with Patrick Marleau

The San Jose Sharks have reignited their flame with veteran forward Patrick Marleau. This was a rumor practically all summer. After Patty was left team-less and the Sharks started their season, well, badly, the 40-year-old forward will put on a teal sweater again.

Patrick Marleau left the San Jose Sharks in 2017 and spent two seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs. This summer, he was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes, who bought out the remainder of his 3-year, $6.25 million contract, leaving him a free agent. It was clear he wanted to return to the Tank, but Doug Wilson wasn’t so keen at first, letting the youth within the organization have a shot first. Now it seems as the team searches for depth, they hope to find it in an old friend.

Patty will sign a one-year contract at the league minimum of $700,000. Last season, he played all 82 games with the Leafs, scoring 16 goals and putting up 21 assists.
