The Sharks wrap up the two game road trip in St. Louis today. The Blues are another team desperate for points as the teams playoff hopes are starting to dwindle. As of this morning, the Blues trail the Los Angeles Kings by five points for the second wild card spot. St. Louis has nine games left in the season including today’s game. In other words, every single point counts.
The last time these two teams met, the Sharks won 5-1. San Jose could use another win tonight. The Sharks look to have the 32nd spot in the league locked up so a win might be good for morale and playing spoiler is always fun. The Sharks and the Blues will play a third time in San Jose next weekend.
The Blues leading scorer is Robert Thomas who is averaging just over a point per game. Thomas has 75 points in 73 games. Pavel Buchnevich and Jake Neighbours are tied for the team lead in goals with 26 apiece.
