The Sharks (4-4-0) continue their trip through the Atlantic Northeast tonight with a stop in Boston to play the Bruins (3-3-1). The Sharks are 2-1-0 so far on this road trip, including a contest on Saturday where they killed six New York Ranger penalties in a 4-1 win. However, the trade that changed the directions of two teams some time ago dominates the conversation. That’s right, Martin Jones will start his fourth game against the team with which he spent five fateful days.
While Jones and Bruins forward Sean Kuraly dominate headlines matching up against their former clubs, Joe Thornton, drafted first overall by Boston in 1997, quietly enters the evening with five points in his last four games, and needs one point tonight to tie Jari Kurri for 20th place on the all-time points list.
The Bruins may have needed the extra rest after a 5-4 overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. Ryan O’Reilly beat the Bruins in overtime after Evander Kane tied the game at four with 2:08 remaining in the third, completing a comeback from a 3-0 deficit.

Bruins Lines (via NHL.com)
Brad Marchand – Patrice Bergeron – Anders Bjork
Jake DeBrusk – David Backes – David Pastrnak
Kenny Agostino – Riley Nash – Frank Vatrano
Tim Schaller – Sean Kuraly – Danton Heinen
Torey Krug – Charlie McAvoy
With David Krejci, Ryan Spooner, and Adam McQuaid all sidelined to injury, the Bruins face an uphill battle. Tuukka Rask, while cleared to play after missing two games with a concussion, will back up Anton Khudobin, who sports a 2-0-1 record, with a goals against average of 2.97 and a save percentage of .901. Danton Heinen was called up from the AHL’s Providence Bruins earlier today to suit up for a healthily scratched Matt Beleskey.
