Chatter pretty quiet on the San Jose Sharks front, but some good value players still out there and available.
Off the top of my head Antti Miettinen, Joel Ward, Eric Belanger, Radim Vrbata, Sean Bergenheim, Max Talbot (who San Jose has been rumored to be in on), Marty Reasoner, John Madden, Jeff Halpern, Jamie Langenbrunner, Erik Cole, and Adam Hall all have yet to receive contracts, and there's more value out there who haven't made this list.
With all of the signings that have already occurred today prices are increasing, but San Jose has the cap space to acquire any guys they want. With Niittymaki and Mitchell coming off the books next season a guy like Vernon Fiddler at $1.8 MM for three years isn't a bad contract (he signed with Dallas), but as is always the case when it comes to free agency, it's hard to gauge what negotiations have been like behind closed doors.
[Update]: Talbot and Vrbata are now off the market. Went to the Flyers and Coyotes respectively.
[Update 2]: Halpern and Hall have also signed. Halpern goes to the Capitals, Hall earlier in the week with the Lightning.
Update 3]: Ward off the board along with Reasoner and Cole.
