Sharks vs Blues, Game 2 Preview: Sharks look to even series

After losing their first game one so far this playoffs, the Sharks will take the ice in St Louis tonight looking to even the series at one and steal home ice advantage.

San Jose played well on Sunday night, but a solid goaltending performance from Brian Elliott was enough for the Blues to hang on and win. I’m confident the Sharks can stay competitive in this series if they continue to play the way they did in game one (also, if Martin Jones can get another shutout).

San Jose dropped game one despite a solid performance. God damn you, Brian Elliott.

Storylines

  • This is the first time the Sharks have been behind in a series this year. We’ll see how they respond to the added pressure.
  • The Blues are 5-0 in the playoffs when leading after two, which probably doesn’t mean anything, but this is the playoffs so we’ll all pretend it does. Scoring early and often is a pretty good strategy for the Sharks anyway.
  • Brian Elliott has a .932 sv% for the Blues in the playoffs. Let’s hope the Sharks find a way to lower that number/
