Sharks vs. Canucks Preview: You again

It’s deja vu all over again. This time the Sharks take on the Canucks in Vancouver and tonight there will be a period of 3v3 overtime regardless of the score at the end of regulation. So if you can’t get enough of the mayhem that ended last night’s contest, you’re in luck.

This is the second of seven preseason games for San Jose, four of which will come on the road.

Some of the big guns are in the lineup for the first time tonight. Patrick Marleau, Logan Couture, Joel Ward, Brent Burns and Paul Martin all suit up for their first preseason game of the year. We’ll get our first look at the Martin-Burns pairing and see how Joel Ward does on a line with Marleau and Couture.

The Sedins will see their first preseason action tonight, which ought to mean a much better Vancouver team than the one we saw last night. Former Shark Taylor Fedun is also slated to play, he’s lined up in the second defensive pairing with Ben Hutton.

Last Meeting

Well, it just happened yesterday. But if you’ve forgotten, Marcus wrote a post about it. Isn’t that convenient?

Storylines
  • There’s a chance we’ll see more regulars tonight, so expect drastically different line combinations.
  • Hertl-Wingels-Tierney looked great for the Sharks last night. It’ll be interesting to see if they stick together tonight, and if not how they fare with new partners./
