Sharks vs. Kings Game 1: Joe Pavelski ties the game at one

San Jose trailed early but a shot on the power play proved to be the antidote the Sharks were looking for. Joe Pavelski fired home a shot form distance to even things up at one goal apiece.

After a rough start to the power play, Brent Burns delayed in the Sharks zone leading to jeers from the Los Angeles crowd. It paid off, as San Jose eventually found zone time through an entry pass to Patrick Marleau. The puck wound up on Pavelski’s stick and, well, see for yourself.

The game has been pretty open so far, with possession numbers relatively even. We know how these series go — and we know power plays may be tough to come by. It’s a big goal from Pavelski to both take advantage of the Sharks first power play and to even things up early on.

Lots of left game to play. Go Sharks.
