The Sharks and Oilers face off for the final time during the regular season at 7:30 p.m. at SAP Center. San Jose is 2-2 against Edmonton this season and trails the Oil 5-4 in points with a chance to win the season series with a regulation victory this evening.
Where to watch / listen in San Jose
NBC Sports Bay Area / KFOX 98.5
Martin Jones gets back in between the pipes while both Joe Thornton and Logan Couture remain sidelined due to injury. Both Thornton and Couture are skating again, which is good news for a San Jose club that can’t expect to go far in the playoffs without them.
The Sharks are riding a two-game winning streak, but didn’t exactly drape themselves in glory against the Canucks on Tuesday night. San Jose coasted after taking an early lead and will need to play a more complete game to beat Edmonton tonight. Probably.
San Jose enters the contest tied with the Oilers in points (97) and needs a win to keep any hope of winning the Pacific alive. That will be rendered moot if Anaheim beats Chicago; that game gets underway at 4 p.m. PT (which is why I posted this gamethread early, you can watch that game on NBC Sports).
