Tomas Hertl ejected from game for hit on Dmitry Kulikov

Tomas Hertl was ejected from the Winnipeg Jets at San Jose Sharks game tonight at 8:13 of the first period.

The forward was finishing his check on Dmitry Kulikov against the boards and hit Kulikov high and from behind, causing him to bleed onto the ice. Jacob Trouba immediately responded, engaging in some physicality with Hertl.

Hertl was assessed a five minute major for boarding, served by Kevin Labanc, and a game misconduct. Jacob Trouba was given a two minute minor for roughing, resulting in a three-minute power play for the Jets. Kulikov has not returned for the second period.
