We begin our 25 San Jose Sharks under 25 series at the bottom with defender Patrick McNally. Ranked No. 25 by the venerable Fear the Fin readers, McNally played with the San Jose Barracuda last season in what was his professional debut.
Originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the fourth round in 2010, the Sharks acquired McNally on a draft-day trade in 2015. The Sharks sent over the 210th pick in the 2015 draft for McNally’s rights.

What we like: He has a lot of offensive upside, which he showed in the prospect scrimmage with a hat trick. McNally scored 21 points in his senior season with Harvard and scored 28 in his first year with the Crimson.
What to improve on: While McNally certainly has offensive potential he didn’t show much of it with the Barracuda last year. He tallied only three points in his first professional season, which isn’t a terrific sign for a guy who is already low on the defensive depth chart.
Highlight: This is a little old but should give you an idea of what McNally can do in the offensive zone.
