World Cup of Hockey 2016 schedule: Mikkel Boedker, Team Europe seeks final berth

With the United States dead and gone, us Americans are stuck rooting for the various San Jose Sharks left in the World Cup of Hockey. For those of us who have been doing that since day one, I have good news! If Team Europe can upset the Swedes, we’ll get a Shark on both teams in the Final, which starts on Tuesday.

Okay, so Mikkel Boedker hasn’t actually played in the tournament so far and is unlikely to do so even if Team Europe wins on Saturday, but he’s doing such a good job cheering the squad on! Whatever, I’m not letting this turn off my enthusiasm for my favorite Danish hockey player and neither should you.

So if you can turn the NFL off this morning, we’ve got a bit of hockey for you to watch. Turn over to ESPN! Do it! Go!

Sunday, Sept. 25

Sweden vs. Team Europe, 10 a.m., ESPN
