Lerg and Barracuda defenseman Joakim Ryan, who took the initial shot on net from the center point, picked up the assists.

Barracuda forward Jeremy Langlois made it 3-0 at 5:49 of the second period with a shorthanded goal that saw Langlois use his speed along the right side to burst through the neutral zone and into the Heat zone, where he cut across the slot and beat Heat goaltender Kevin Poulin with a backhanded shot from on top of the crease for his ninth goal of the season. Haley had the lone assist on the goal.

Goldobin continued the offensive onslaught with his first power play goal of the game at 11:20 off a snap shot from just in front of the right face-off circle for his 12th goal of the season. Stollery and Lerg registered the assists.

The Heat got on the scoreboard at 16:46 when forward Hunter Shinkaruk beat Grosenick just inside the near post from the right side of the crease for a power play goal, his 22nd goal of the season.

Near the midway point of the third period at 9:05, Goldobin regained the Barracuda's four goal lead with a quick shot from on top of the crease for his second power play goal of the game and 13th goal of the season. McCarthy and newly acquired Barracuda forward Jeremy Morin picked up the assists.
