Joe Pavelski scores on a double-deflection

UPDATE: The goal has been changed to Joe Pavelski’s and Brent Burns is now getting only a secondary assist. So. Just kidding.

Brent Burns put his name down in the San Jose Sharks record book tonight by scoring his 27th goal of the season. This goal, a blast from the blue-line, gave the Sharks a 2-1 lead over the Kings while also putting Burns atop the Sharks defender single-season goal scoring heap.

That goal passes Sandis Ozolinsh’s 26-goal mark, a record that has stood since the 1993-94 season. Burns also holds the highest single-season points record for Sharks defenders — he had 67 entering Monday’s game. Check out the record-setting goal below.
