Happy Sunday, Sharks fans! As mentioned in Wednesday’s Fear The Five post, we’re debuting a new weekly feature – starting today! Join me every Sunday as I count down the top five social media posts from around the team. This time, I’ll be focusing on posts from Thursday through today. Let’s get started!
#5: Hype Man
We’re baaaaaaaack! pic.twitter.com/AYHXW987bs
— Brodie Brazil (@BrodieNBCS) October 8, 2017
Brodie Brazil managed to give all of us goosebumps on Saturday with his pump-up video for the team looking ahead to this season. Nothing gets the blood flowing like game highlights and epic headshots of the players. The only reason this video doesn’t land higher on the list is the cringe-worthy shot of Joe Thorton’s knee injury from April. It’s been six months, but it still hurts to watch that!
#4: Expansion Beer?
A rookie no longer! CHUM 🍺 takes the shelves at @Safeway for year 2 in #SharksTerritory. pic.twitter.com/56oZbhwxzt
— San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) October 6, 2017
Randy Hahn and Bret Hedican put together a video highlighting the great year coming up for the Sharks’ own beer – Chum. Hockey puns abound – oh, and using beer bottles as mics. Nice one, guys.
#3: #ThrowbackThursday
Brodie Brazil won the Throwback Thursday hashtag this week with a picture of himself during his first season of covering the Sharks. This year is his 9th season with the team. Looking forward to another year of chirping, sharp analysis, and fun, Brodie!
#2: Joe Paw-velski
“Dude, I think your cat’s dead.”
Joe Pavelski and Paul Martin had fun shooting their #SharksForLife commercial. 😂 pic.twitter.com/ZTZlxQ1sEX
— San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) October 7, 2017
The Sharks posted the giggle-filled bloopers from Paul Martin and Joe Pavelski’s “We Cheer For You” commerical on Saturday. Who knew Cap was so great at puns?
#1: Feelin’ Good
Born to create.
Welcome to #teamadidas, @Burnzie88. pic.twitter.com/njoHP4i8jI
— adidas Hockey (@adidashockey) October 5, 2017
Adidas Hockey welcomed Brent Burns to the sponsor team on Thursday with a dope video of his puck-handling skills. The defending Norris champ also picked up his 500th point in Wednesday’s home opener against the Flyers. We can’t wait to see what this season brings for him!
Bonus: Mr. 500!
On Wednesday, October 4th, Brent Burns picked up his 500th career point. To celebrate, Jamie Baker posted a great recap of the achievements Burns has accrued over the last two and a half years – quite a list! Congrats, Burnzie!
That’s all for this week, folks! Tune in again on Sunday, October 15th for the next countdown. In the meantime, you can comment below with your favorite from this week’s list or tweet at me with your candidates for next week!
