Nikolay Goldobin sent back to Barracuda

The other shoe-brus has dropped. I'm sorry.

With the impending signing of Dainius Zubrus, someone was going to take a short trip back to the Barracuda. The odd man out is Nikolay Goldobin, who was sent back to the AHL this morning. He's got a goal and an assist with the Sharks and holds the identical stat line with the Barracuda (albeit in three fewer games).

The Barracuda are in Charlotte for a pair of games against the Checkers. You'll be able to read a recap of that from our resident AHL expert, Jon Allred. You can read his last recap, or peruse his work this season in the Barracuda Bytes tab.

The very short presser can be found below.

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned forward Nikolay Goldobin (@goldobin78) to the San Jose Barracuda (AHL, @sjbarracuda).

The 20-year-old Goldobin has posted a goal and an assist in six games with the Barracuda this season, and has registered a goal and an assist in nine NHL games with the Sharks. In nine games with the Worcester Sharks last season, Goldobin registered five points (3-2=5). He started the 2014-15 season with HIFK in Finland, posting 21 points (11-10=21) in 38 games.

A five-foot-eleven, 185-pound native of Moscow, Russia, Goldobin was originally drafted by San Jose in the first round (27th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft.
