Quick Bite: Sharks edged by Ducks in return from All-Star Break

San Jose took seven more shots than the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night, but it was the Sharks southern Californian rival that had one more goal in a 3-2 loss for team teal.

Despite being out shot 13-7 in the first period, Anaheim found the back of the net first. Rickard Rakell smashed home a goal top shelf that put the Ducks up 1-0. San Jose challenged the goal, but it was upheld.

Tomas Hertl nearly got San Jose on the board at the end of the first period, but couldn't quite tap home a Joe Thornton pass. Anaheim entered the first intermission up 1-0.

Dainius Zubrus scores his second goal of the season on a tip of a shot from Brent Burns. That deadlock didn't last long, though, as Hampus Lindholm's fourth goal of the year came just minutes later to put the Ducks back up 2-1.

Chris Stewart scored Anaheim's third goal 12 minutes into the second period, but just a minute later Tommy Wingels pulled one back for San Jose. His goal, which is his fifth of the season, got the Sharks back within striking distance.

Entering the third period the Sharks trailed 3-2 but were out-shooting the Ducks 23-18.
