Barracuda Bites: Paul Martin joins Barracuda ahead of Fighter Pilot Night

This week, the San Jose Barracuda finish a home-and-home series against the Tucson Roadrunners (the American Hockey League affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes) and will start a home-and-home series against the Bakersfield Condors (the top-level affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers), both of the Pacific Division. This season, the Barracuda have recorded losses in their one previous regular season meeting with the Roadrunners and their preseason meeting against the Condors.

Joining the San Jose Barracuda lineup in Tucson tonight is Paul Martin. Martin has previously played 13 seasons in the National Hockey League and will wear #7 with the Barracuda. This will be Martin’s debut in the AHL; he was activated off of injured reserve on Thursday and will spend up to two weeks with the Barracuda on conditioning.

The next home date for the Barracuda is December 16th, against the Bakersfield Condors. This home date is also Fighter Pilot Night, and as such, the first 4,000 visitors to the SAP Center will receive a commemorative bobblehead depicting both Joe Pavelski and Justin Braun of the San Jose Sharks as fighter pilots.

The Barracuda will also don special jerseys for the duration of the game. These jerseys will be silent and blind auctioned on game night as well.

At press time, the San Jose Barracuda hold a 9-10-11 record with 20 games played and are seventh in the AHL’s Pacific Division, having lost their last two games in regulation. The Barracuda are looking to rebound against their Pacific Division rivals this week.
