The Vegas Golden Knights steal Sharks forward Ryan Carpenter for virtually nothing. You can click here to get all the details. Meanwhile, the hits keep on coming for the Anaheim Ducks, who are now without another top player.

Anaheim Ducks (13-11-7)

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, you have to feel bad for the Ducks. Just hours after slotting captain Ryan Getzlaf and defenseman Jakob Silfverberg back into the lineup, forward Corey Perry went down. Perry suffered a knee injury in Monday’s 3-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes and was taken to the hospital after leaving the game. He’s considered week-to-week and will be reevaluated next week. The Ducks sent winger Jared Boll down to the AHL over the weekend. Anaheim lost to the Minnesota Wild 3-2 in overtime on Friday.

Forward Nick Ritchie is expected to return to the lineup tonight when the Ducks play the St. Louis Blues at 5:00 PT.

Arizona Coyotes (7-21-5)

The Coyotes better hope they get lucky in the draft lottery because the regular season certainly isn’t going their way. The Coyotes lost to the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1 on Sunday, were shutout by the Columbus Blue Jackets 1-0 on Saturday, and were beat up by the Boston Bruins 6-1 on Thursday.

Things won’t get any easier for the Coyotes tonight. They play the league leading Tampa Bay Lightning at 6:00 PT.

Calgary Flames (16-12-3)

Flames agitator Matthew Tkachuk is making more headlines for his antics than his scoring. Tkachuk missed last Thursday’s 3-2 overtime win over the Montreal Canadiens because he was serving a one-game suspension. Tkachuk was suspended for reaching out from the bench and thrusting his stick at a Toronto Maple Leafs player who had just cleanly checked one of Tkachuk’s teammates. It’s the second suspension this season for Tkachuk. The Flames beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-2 on Saturday, but lost to Minnesota 2-1 in a shootout on Tuesday.

Calgary’s Jaromir Jagr has missed more than a week with an upper body injury. He is expected to return to the lineup tonight at 6:00 PT when the Flames host the Sharks.

Edmonton Oilers (13-16-2)

When the Oilers are on their game, they’re scoring in handfuls, but the problem for them is finding that game. Connor McDavid had a goal and three assists Tuesday night as the Oilers routed the Blue Jackets 7-2. But on Saturday, that same Oilers team was shutout 1-0 by Maple Leafs’ goaltender Curtis McElhinney. The Oil also beat up on the Canadiens 6-2 on Saturday.

Oilers’ starting goaltender Cam Talbot is back skating with the team after a few weeks on IR, but he’s not expected to play tonight’s game (6:00 PT) against the Nashville Predators. He told the Edmonton Sun that he’s hoping to be back in the lineup in less than a week.

Los Angeles Kings (20-9-3)

Thank you to the New Jersey Devils who snapped the Kings’ eight-game win streak on Tuesday, beating them 5-1. The Kings beat the Hurricanes 3-2 in overtime on Saturday and the Ottawa Senators 4-3 in overtime on Thursday.

Los Angeles is off until tomorrow, when they pay a visit to the New York Rangers. Game time is 4:00 PT.

Vancouver Canucks (14-14-4)

A familiar face could be on the ice when the Sharks and Canucks face off tomorrow. Vancouver is expected to slot former Sharks prospect Nikolay Goldobin into the lineup after a string of injuries to key players. Forwards Bo Horvat (fractured foot) and Sven Baertschi (broken jaw) are out for at least four weeks after getting hurt earlier this week. Forward Brandon Sutter and defenseman Erik Gudbranson are also out due to injury, but are hoping to return within the week.

In their absence, the Canucks have struggled. They were destroyed by the Predators 7-1 last night. They lost to the Winnipeg Jets 5-1 on Monday, the Flames 4-2 on Saturday, and the Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 on Thursday.

The Canucks host the Sharks tomorrow night at 7:00 PT.

Vegas Golden Knights (19-9-2)

With their starting goaltender back between the pipes, the Vegas Golden Knights just got more formidable. Marc-Andre Fleury had a strong showing in his first game back from injury (he hasn’t played since Oct. 13), making 35 saves in the 3-2 shootout loss to the Hurricanes. Fleury’s next test will be tonight against his former team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. Puck drops at 7:00 PT.

In Fleury’s absence, a number of backups have kept the Golden Knights in the second spot in the Pacific Division. Maxime Legace helped the Knights to a 5-3 victory over the Dallas Stars on Saturday. On Thursday, Malcolm Subban made 41 saves to beat his brother P.K. and the rest of the Predators 4-3 in the shootout.

And of course, as mentioned before, Vegas snagged Ryan Carpenter off waivers on Tuesday.
